We can see from these lessons that we have a dilemma. As we have discussed sin that has caused separation from God, we looked at how it affected Cain against God and Abel.  Since it is written "There is no one righteous, not even one.", that means we are all sinners, and sin will affect every one of us.  And only God is righteous.
As people began to increase in number on the earth, the Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.  The Lord was grieved that He had made man on the earth and His heart was filled with pain.  So the Lord said "I will wipe mankind and animals, whom I have created, from the face of the earth for I am grieved that I have made them.  But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
